More Projects.

I’ve been having a lot of fun these past couple of weeks working on my projects. My goal is to make as many projects as I can without having to buy anything, just recycling and using useless stuff that I already have at home. Last summer I just happened to stop by a garage sale and found a huge bag with all kinds of pieces of fabrics for just 1 dollar! Cool right?
So I borrowed a sewing machine and decided to make another quiet book for Clara, but this time I made a fabric one, just to use all those pieces of fabric that I don’t want to “save”. (I’m just trying to get rid of as much stuff as I can in preparation for our next move).

And the best part of all is that Clara loves it! It makes me just so happy to make her happy and to add excitement to her life :)


I also made a picture frame FHE chart a couple months ago and I thought of also sharing it on my blog. I spent “zero” money on this one, and it was very easy to make.

Clara is SO into the letters lately. She sings the ABC song all the time and has been practicing her letters on her little blackboard and on any single paper she finds around. She knows how to write her name, and she is so thrilled about it that she just doesn’t stop writing it.

Yes, she also wrote her name on the fridge, I just love her letter “R” isn’t it adorable?
These are some of her letters, she started writing the letter “E” correctly but then decided that it looked too simple so she started adding more middle lines to it, to make it look fancier :)

A little bit of this, a little bit of that...

I haven't updated FOREVER! So much has happened that I won't go through it all. My theory with blogs is that if you try to update all the important things and write about them all, then blogging becomes a job. But if I just write down my thoughts and add a few pictures whenever I have time, then it's no big deal. Life is too busy to add another chore. But an update is overdue :)

Clara is 3! Yeah I know, you know I’m going to say that I just can’t believe how fast time flies. Clara is a little woman; she’s very independent and is on the “I’ll-do-it-by-myself” stage, which is very funny when it comes to something pretty difficult to do, like make her own bed. She would say “I’ll do it, watch mama” and then 2 minutes later I see that humble face saying “would you help me?”



Chris has been working a lot in the studio every week and has been very busy, I’m just so happy that he is doing something he has passion and really loves and that is REALLY good at. Check his stuff at walkingcubes.com and delight yourself on his amazing works:)

We had a fun summer, and we got to go to a couple of family trips. There are a lot of beautiful parks around here and we tried to visit them all.
Since summer was So beautiful we couldn’t keep Tony and Alfredo inside, they both were dying to jump into the adventurous world outside. So guess what? I don’t have indoor cats anymore! They both are free and wild now :) Tony always had a restless spirit so he’s more than happy but Alfredo is pretty shy but still enjoys the outdoors. . Now summer is over and we have to get ready for the long never-ending winter.

I’ve been working on a lot of new projects. First I reupholstered my sofas again! :) I know I’m crazy! Well the thing is that we found this high-end furniture manufacturer place where they sell fabric for SO cheap, almost for free, so I got enough fabric to do BOTH of my sofas again for less than $10 bucks! So I couldn’t resist it, and the fabric this time is of a much better quality that the one I used last time. Since I did it once I learned from “mistakes” I made the first time and now they look much better. Plus I’m obsessed with spotless furniture. Later on I’ll post a picture of them I guess..

Second: For a long time I wanted to make Clara a quiet book for church. I had made other similar things to keep her focused on sacrament meeting, but since I don’t have a sewing machine the idea of making one seemed to stressful for me. So I decided to make a paper quiet book! I used fabric as well and velcro. And it looks very cute! I finished it awhile ago but I've been too busy to post. Time moves so quickly around us:) anyways here are the pictures!

We are teaching Clara two languages, so everything I teach her I translate it to Spanish or viceversa.







On this one the number 1 is the only one that has velcro on so she can put it in the envelope

Chris' family is coming to visit us next week, we're very excited and looking forward to have fun with them.

New York, New York!

This month it’s going to be a year since we moved to the Empire State. It’s crazy to think that a year has already passed, seriously it feels like yesterday when we moved, yet we had had a lot of adventures and great friends we had gained and goals we had reached. To be honest Chris and I are absolutely in love with New York! Not really with the country part but with the state in general.

My friend Rachel and her cute family came from Ohio to visit us, and we went to the Hill Cumorah Pageant, which I really liked. Clara was very emotional about the whole play and when she saw Jesus coming down appearing to the Nephites, she said “look mama, It’s Jesus” and she was almost crying, she couldn’t believe she was actually seeing Jesus for real, I hated to have to explain her that that was not the real Jesus, that was just an actor pretending to be Jesus. And I hated to see her disappointed face. But still, she kept paying a lot of attention to the play and got very surprised with everything, It was so cute to see her being that impressed with the whole experience.



Rachel’s twins and Clara are 5 days apart; we were in the same hospital at the same time when we had them. So they have been always very close, I’m sad we live far away from each other now, but we all Loved seeing them have so much fun together this time!
In one moment James was chasing Clara and suddenly she stopped him and said “You have to be nice, ‘cause I’m a Princess” that was one of the cutest things I’ve ever heard!



In July … We went to the City!!!!
The city was simply A-M-A.Z-I-N-G!









Manhattan NY Temple

We visited Cheri and Ian in New Jersey!
And we went to the Beach!!! it was so much fun!





Ian and Chris looked like too little kids, they were having a blast with the waves, look at their happy faces!







We had a lot of fun! Clara fell in love with her uncle Ian,It was like love at first sight!

and of course she got obsessed with aunt Cheri’s long-blond hair and her jewelry, every time we were distracted she slowly and quietly went to their room and delighted herself digging in aunt Cheri’s jewelry box and then appeared all covered with rings and bracelets.

She went to bed with her princesses shoes aunt Cheri got her!

We also went to an Uruguayan restaurant Cheri and I found on internet, I was sooo pump, going inside this place was like being in my home town again, the food was inexplicable delicious and I was so excited for Ian and Cheri to have their first experience with Uruguayan food, the restaurant owner (which remained me of my grandmother, no kidding) told me that the meat was imported from Uruguay so I persuaded them to try the meat instead of having the typical Uruguayan pasta. We went there just in the moment when Uruguay was playing Argentina for the American cup, so people, this is HUGE for us (soccer fans) so to make the restaurant experience even more Uruguayan you can never miss the extremely passionate Uruguayan people watching soccer! It was hilarious, we ate, we saw the game, we screamed our hearts out, Chris even hugged I guy he had never met before! And do you know what? We WON! It was quite the time.
